Do You Think You're Suited For Greenpower Mobility? Take This Quiz
Greenpower Mobility – All-Energy Medium and Heavy-Duty Vehicles Greenpower creates, builds and distributes a complete range of low-floor and high-floor electric heavy-duty and medium-duty vehicles. This includes transit buses and school buses, as cargo buses and shuttles. EV Star is a zero-emission vehicle that has a high degree of customization. It's also fully FTA certified and Buy America compliant. It offers a range that is world-class and ADA wheelchair accessibility. It also offers cargo delivery options. EV Star GreenPower Motor Company produces a complete line of high-floor and low-floor all-electric medium and heavy-duty vehicles. Their flagship vehicle is the EV Star Cab & Chassis platform, which is able to accommodate many different upfits and bodies for multiple applications. The platform's clean sheet design approach allows for the optimal placement of battery packs and a lower center of gravity, which results in better payload to range ratios. The EV Star REEFERX is designed to be used for mid to last mile refrigerated delivery and catering. green scooters refrigerated truck's class 4 design's one wall structure inside and higher insulation compared to traditional trucks enable seamless sanitation, better temperature control, and a longer life. The EV Star REEFERX offers superior capacity for cargo and a world-class payload to range ratio that is ideal for zero emission passenger transport and goods. GreenPower has partnered with Perrone Robotics to up-fit the EV Star with their TONY (To Navigate You) autonomous vehicle system, which will allow fleets to quickly change to autonomous vehicles. The AV Star can also be wirelessly charging up to 75 kW. We had the chance to test drive the EV9 for several hours on a local freeway, and found it to be easy to drive and comfortable for long distances. The EV9 can be used to block wind and road noise while driving on the highway. It glides effortlessly over ruts and humps. The car's acceleration is surprisingly quick, and it has adjustable regenerative brakes that allow “one-pedal driving” simply by releasing the accelerator. The EV9 provides a large range and can be recharged within three hours or less at home, or by using any commercial charger. The driver has the option of choosing between two operating modes – eco mode and sport mode. Eco mode focuses on the torque, cruise control and handling while sport mode maximizes speed. Both modes are fun to drive and offer a unique experience for those who've never experienced driving an electric vehicle before. In addition to the EV9, GreenPower has several other e-vehicles available, such as a multi-purpose, all-electric mini bus, called the EV Star. The EV Star is ADA compliant and can be used as an executive shuttle, transit or micro-transit vanpool, bus, or paratransit vehicle. GreenPower is already producing about 10 EV Star buses per month for the Jacksonville Transit Authority, which is working to replace their fleet of diesel vehicles with 100 fully electric vehicles. With the Biden Administration looking to electrify school buses across the country, GreenPower plans on ramping production to meet demand. Their EV Star buses are the first of their kind to be Altoona tested and FMVSS certified. They are Buy America compliant, and ADA certified. This means they will be eligible for federal transit assistance grants. Stay tuned when we follow the AV Star on its tour of demonstration later in the year. We will give more details about this EV that is truly innovative!
